Sofi De La Mora
Sofi De La Mora is a public library leader dedicated to expanding equitable access to information, technology, and culturally responsive services. With more than fifteen years of experience in research, community-centered program developing, and team leadership, she is deeply committed to uplifting immigrant and Spanish-speaking communities. Sofi’s work centers on inclusive programming, strong staff development, and building welcoming spaces where all community members feel seen and supported.

Julie Marie Frye, Ph.D.
Julie Marie Frye, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Library & Information Science at Appalachian State University. She is a recipient of the American Library Association and Carnegie Corporation’s I Love My Librarian Award. Her research examines how multilingual libraries can help repair civic fracture and strengthen social cohesion. Centering everyday library encounters, her work highlights the democratic potential of bilingual reference interactions and contributes to building a more hopeful future.

Yesica Hurd
Yesica Hurd is a Mexican-American Children’s Librarian at the City of Berkeley Library in California. Since 2021, she has written book reviews for Horn Book. In 2022, she served on the 2023 Newbery Committee. Recently, in 2025, she co-chaired the John & Patricia Beatty Award. In 2026, she is a member of Bibliotecas Para la Gente Scholarship Committee. Yesica has also moderated several panels for School Library Journal. She is passionate about serving children and building strong connections with the community.

Paulina Cosma
Paulina Cosma is a Mexican-American MLIS student at the University of Denver. Since 2025, she has served on the Garden State Teen Book Award Committee, volunteered as the Seed Library Liaison at the Plainsboro Public Library, and been a Friend of the Library. She aspires to become a Youth Services or Outreach librarian and to develop inclusive programming for all community members.

Hannah-Jayne Duran
Description goeHannah-Jayne Duran, MLIS, is a Processing Archivist at the University of Denver Libraries. She is currently an officer for REFORMA Colorado and has worked on several local conferences. She has worked in both public and academic libraries for over a dozen years, and she is passionate about connecting community to history.

Ruby L. Nugent MA LIS
Ruby L. Nugent MA LIS is the Biomedical Research Librarian at National Jewish Health Tucker Medical Library in Denver, Colorado. She is a member of REFORMA Colorado and currently serves on the REFORMA Research Committee. She has been part of the planning committee for several library conferences in the past, including two National REFORMA conferences. Ruby has worked in public, academic, and hospital libraries for close to 30 years and is active in a variety of local, regional, and national professional library organizations. Her service and scholarship has allowed her to combine a passion for connecting Spanish-speaking populations to health information, increasing health literacy, and empowering these communities to take ownership of their personal health.

Socorro “Coco” Pacheco, MLIS
Description goes heSocorro “Coco” Pacheco, MLIS, is an Indigenous Mexican-American member of REFORMA Los Angeles. She brings more than 25 years of experience serving children and families and holds multiple certifications, including in infant massage, children’s yoga, and sign language instruction. She is the Children’s Supervising Librarian at the Downey City Library, where she develops inclusive multigenerational programs that promote early literacy, multilingual learning, and family engagement. Coco has presented on innovative youth programming and culturally responsive library services at regional and national conferences and is passionate about creating welcoming spaces that celebrate diverse families and communities.

Nicanor Diaz, MLIS
Nicanor Diaz, MLIS, is the Plaza and Language Services Library Manager at the Denver Public Library. Diaz has worked in libraries since 2005, including a 6-month practicum at the Argentinean National Library in Buenos Aires. Diaz has been involved with REFORMA since 2007 as a member and has held different responsibilities in the association including the chair of the Translation Committee, president of the Colorado Chapter of REFORMA, Central Chapter Representative, and REFORMA National President from 2021-2022. He was also awarded the Arnulfo D. Trejo Librarian of the Year Award in 2023.
At the Denver Public Library, Diaz manages the Plaza and Language Services department which coordinates all of the Denver Public Library’s immigrant services including its signature program called Plazas and Denver Public Library’s programs in Arabic, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Nadia is a Language Services Program Manager in the Denver Public Library. Her work focuses not only in welcoming communities with limited English language into the library spaces, but also in creating connection. She has worked at DPL for over 11 years and has been involved in REFORMA in different capacities for a few years.Her interest in librarianship and REFORMA is deeply personal. After immigrating from Mexico to the United States in 2006, she discovered that public libraries were far more than places for books—they were community hubs that provided access, opportunity, and belonging. That experience inspires her commitment to ensuring libraries remain inclusive, empowering spaces for historically underserved communities.

Annie is a public library leader and consultant with more than 18 years of experience aligning strategy, community assets, and staff engagement. Most recently, she led Neighborhood Services at Denver Public Library, overseeing 26 branch libraries and service design teams, and is committed to supporting library staff and their Spanish-speaking communities through professional development and networking opportunities with REFORMA Colorado and National

Ernesto Escarsega, MLIS
Ernesto Escarsega is the Community Outreach Event Supervisor at the Denver Public Library, where he works with community partners and library staff to bring library services to people across Denver. He has worked in outreach, branch leadership, and mobile services, and enjoys finding new ways to connect people with the library. Ernesto is passionate about building strong community partnerships, supporting staff, and creating programs and events that reflect the communities they serve. As a bilingual library leader originally from Mexico, he believes libraries can make a difference by helping people feel welcome, connected, and supported.

Asunción Cora, MLIS
Asunción is an Associate Manager in the College and Career Pathways department at the New York Public Library. In this role, she focuses on providing college and career readiness support to staff and teens at over 40 branches of the New York Public Library. Prior to this, she was a teen librarian at NYPL. She has served on several youth literature selection committees including the 2021 Michael L. Printz Committee as well as chairing the Pura Belpré Selection Committee. She is a member and past president of the REFORMA Northeast Chapter.
